Maple Mountain welders place third in nation

MMHS welders

The Maple Mountain High School team of junior welding fabricators took 3rd place in the nation at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference.

Each state brought their best welding team to compete. Our team consisted of Tosh Davis, Tyler Christmas, and Ben Warnick. They built a tool box from scratch in 6.5 hours.

When asked about what the program provided for the students, parent Lorraine Davis, said, “The SkillsUSA motto is, ‘Preparing for leadership in the world of work’. It’s Jared Massic’s  commitment to SkillsUSA and to the boys that has directly contributed to their success at the National SkillsUSA competition; and no doubt, he has helped to make them ‘leaders’ in a world if work.  MMHS is very lucky to have him there!”
