Mapleton’s 2017 Pioneer Day Celebration is July 22
Mapleton will hold its 2017 Pioneer Day celebration on Saturday, July 22.
Morning events
Morning events will be held at the Mapleton City Park (corner of Maple and Main), as follows:
6:30am-7:30am Wake Up Call
7:00am-7:30am Flag Ceremony at Mapleton City Park
7:00am-8:30am 5k Race and Fun Run – Start and finish at Mapleton City Offices
7:00am-10:00am Breakfast at Mapleton City Park
9:00am-10:00am Parade begins at Mapleton Jr. High School
10:00am-2:00pm Activities, games, entertainment, and lunch (hot dogs, hamburgers, pulled pork sandwiches)
10:00am-2:00pm First annual Mapleton Hands to Hearts project – Community Humanitarian effort
10:00am-2:00pm Pioneer activities sponsored by the Daughters of Utah Pioneers (pioneer games, pioneer skills & activities); tours of the Levi Kendall cabin and Mapleton Heritage Museum
10:00am-1:00pm Register for Ping Pong Ball Drop (must register to participate – Parents/Guardians must be present to sign waiver)
Evening activities
Evening activities will be held at Ira Allen Park (1600 S 800 W), as follows:
4:00pm-6:00pm Register for Ping Pong Ball Drop (Closes at 6:00pm – NO EXCEPTIONS). Parents/Guardians must be present to sign waiver.
5:00pm-6:30pm Dinner at Ira Allen Park
6:30pm-7:30pm Helicopter Ping Pong Ball Drop (Children 6-14)
6:30pm-6:45pm Ages 12-14
6:45pm-7:00pm Ages 9-11
7:00pm-7:15pm Ages 6-8
7:15pm-7:30pm – Prizes Awarded
7:30pm-8:00pm Skydivers
8:00pm Opening Ceremony
8:15pm-10:00pm Concert by Party Crashers
10:00pm (approx.) Fireworks in the park (bring ear protection for small children). This year’s show will rival any show in the valley.
