MMHS athletes excel at State meet

Maple Mountain athletes posted some great performances at the State track meet this weekend as the boys’ team finished in 6th place with 37 points, and the girls’ team finished in 7th place with 40 points.

Top performers for the Eagles were standout Elli Eastmond, who finished first in the 800 meters, second in the 400 meters, and second in the javelin. Elli also ran on the girls medley relay team which placed first; other team members were Baylee Lund, Heather Asay, and Tennessee Schellenberg. Rounding out the scoring, the girls’ 4 x 400 team finished in 5th place.

For the Boys, Cameron Bates took first place in the javelin; teammate River Woods took 6th in the javelin and 4th in the discus. Quinn Hooper was third in the 110 meters and third in the 200 meter hurdles. The boys’ 4 x 100 team took fourth, and Travis Farley was 6th in the 400 meters.
