Springville’s Art City Days Parade 2012
Springville’s 2012 Art City Days parade got underway with a burst of confetti, the wail of sirens, the drone of bagpipes, and a lot of cheering and clapping from the crowd gathered along 400 South.
Many Mapleton residents enjoy the festivities of our sister city to the north, the annual Art City Days held in early June. Numerous events are a part of Art City Days, but the parade – along with the Nestle 5K run, the Carnival, and the fireworks – is probably one of the most popular.
And why not? With beauty queens; high school marching bands; local performing groups, politicians and businesses; and more, the parade is everything you’d want in a hometown celebration. It’s sure to be the stuff of happy childhood memories for the many children who lined the parade route scrambling to high-five parade participants and to collect candy.
Springville’s Art City Days Parade 2012 was well-organized, well-attended, and much-appreciated by a large crowd. The festivities continue today with events including the carnival throughout the day and fireworks tonight.
